Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy explains how the ClaimShelf iPhone application and this website handle information. “ClaimShelf,” “we,” and “us” refer to the independent developer offering the application.

2. Information stored and processed on your device

When you use the app, ClaimShelf may process and store the following information locally on your iPhone:

• Document images and PDF files you scan or import.
• Recognized text, titles, categories, issuers, reference numbers, amounts, dates, and other facts you confirm.
• Actions, deadlines, status, reminder identifiers, and local history.
• App settings, purchase entitlement cache, backup status, and encrypted backup key material.

ClaimShelf uses Apple Vision to recognize text on device. ClaimShelf code does not send document content to us or to a remote AI provider.

3. Information we collect

We do not collect personal data from the ClaimShelf app. We do not receive document content, recognized text, titles, amounts, dates, categories, document counts, search history, or custom usage analytics.

This “Data Not Collected” statement describes collection by the ClaimShelf developer. Apple may process information when you choose to use Apple services, as described below and under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.

4. Device permissions

Camera, Photos, and Files

The camera is used only after you choose to scan. Photos and Files use Apple’s system pickers so you can select specific items. ClaimShelf copies selected items into its protected local library and does not retain broad access to your libraries.

Notifications

If you create an action with a deadline, ClaimShelf can request permission to schedule local notifications. Notification text is intentionally generic and excludes amounts, recognized text, and document reference numbers.

Face ID or device authentication

If you enable App Lock, Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework confirms the device owner. ClaimShelf does not receive or store biometric data.

Apple Reminders

If you explicitly enable mirroring, ClaimShelf can create, update, or remove items in a dedicated ClaimShelf reminders list. Reminders are stored and synchronized by Apple according to your Apple account settings. You can turn mirroring off in ClaimShelf or revoke permission in iOS Settings.

5. Optional Apple services

iCloud Drive backup

Pro users may choose automatic encrypted backup to ClaimShelf’s iCloud Drive container. The archive is encrypted on the device with a key derived from the passphrase you choose before it enters iCloud Drive. We do not receive the archive or the passphrase. Apple processes and stores iCloud data under its own terms.

App Store and StoreKit

Apple processes purchases. ClaimShelf receives signed transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock Pro, but does not receive your payment card details. App Store metrics and any diagnostics Apple makes available are controlled by Apple and your device sharing settings.

6. This website

This static website does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not include tracking scripts. Your hosting provider may process ordinary technical request data, such as IP address, browser type, timestamp, and requested page, for delivery, reliability, and security. ClaimShelf does not combine that data with app documents or create advertising profiles.

7. Retention and deletion

• Local documents remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app and its data.
• Documents moved to Recently Deleted are permanently removed from the local library after 30 days unless you restore them first.
• Automatic iOS app offload normally preserves app data. Manually deleting the app can remove its local library.
• Encrypted backups and raw exports remain wherever you saved them until you delete them there. Removing ClaimShelf does not automatically delete copies in Files or iCloud Drive.
• Apple Reminders you created may remain in Apple Reminders until removed by you or by ClaimShelf while it still has access.

8. Security and recovery limits

ClaimShelf uses iOS complete file protection for its app-owned files, optional device-owner authentication for App Lock, and authenticated encryption for ClaimShelf backup archives. No security method can eliminate every risk. A person with access to an unlocked device, an unencrypted raw export, or your backup passphrase may be able to view information.

We cannot reset or recover an encrypted backup passphrase because we do not have an account server or key escrow. Keep the passphrase somewhere only you can access.

9. Children

ClaimShelf is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app’s behavior, Apple platform requirements, or applicable law changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. A material change will be reflected in the app or release notes where appropriate.
